DECLAN W. SPRING
FORTY-EIGHT
CITEZEN
PRESIDENT
GALE HAROLD
basics BIRTHDAY: November 22 STATUS: Married orientation: Straight KEY TRAITS: manipulative; power hungry; well-mannered; intelligent; behind the mask Hello! My name is MICHIE and I am EIGHTEEN years old. As of today, I have been role playing for approximately NINE years. I also play EZIO AUDITORE DE FIRENZE. | The world was his oyster, or so it seemed. Declan Spring dreamed of power from a very young age. Unlike some, he had not been born into wealth or a high stature, he had to earn it himself. His mother, Victoria, had been a made in one of the hotels in the city, and he had always detested her despite her never doing him wrong. She worked day and night to provide food and a place to stay for her son, however all Declan saw was a woman who let herself get taken advantage of. She could have risen to great power and she didn't, she could have fought for their right in society but she didn't - instead she gave all these principles about how it wasn't their place, and it was fate. His father had never really been in his life, for which Declan was thankful for after the stories his mother had told him. It wasn't his place to ask about him much, so aside from what little she had mentioned, he couldn't really bring himself to care. Rather than allowing himself to stoop to his mother's level of poverty and uselessness, Declan did the best he could with his education and earned his way into one of the top ranking schools. Friends and women never really got in the way due to later discovered sociopathic tendencies. Most, if not all of the time, he remained completely unfeeling. He only knew what he wanted, and the rest of the world could either follow or resign to the collateral damage that was left in his wake for the duration of his rise to power. Declan was one of the youngest presidents in history, and played a vital roll in shaping 'The City'. In fact, most of the regulations were his idea. As unfeeling as he was, he didn't care about what people wanted, only that there was order where chaos had once ensued. So with his education, he determined a way for all people to be deemed equal. They may not have liked it, may have found it too controlling, but he quite enjoyed his seat in the proverbial throne, overlooking his kingdom. Most of the order and control wasn't about peace between members of society or equal opportunities, it was about the fact that he could control people and how they lived their own lives. He had the power to reign over them, and they were absolutely defenseless - and he loved it. Eventually, the power began to get to his head even more, and he realized that he was untouchable. His marriage was more for show than anything, he could act all he wanted but he still couldn't bring himself to care much about even his wife. It was only when he helped develop a machine that would change things, and the Memory Wars had begun, that he felt attacked for the first time when his wife had gone missing. True to his nature, he didn't feel attacked because they had taken his wife - they could do whatever the hell they pleased with her for all he cared - but it was a personal attack to him. He was officially their target, and they were hitting harder than ever. Still, after everything, he found it more amusing than worrisome. People died every day and he ate and slept well every night. After so long, he developed a special sort of security to go above and beyond the call of duty, those who he would consider good friends because they always remained loyal to him. He had sent these people to put his mother out of her misery, and gave them a hit list to go by from there. They did all his dirty work so he didn't have to personally get his hands dirty. One of the biggest shocks he received during his ongoing war with the rebels was learning that his daughter had fallen in love with one of those filthy apes... So, naturally, he had to do something about it. This made her a prime candidate to test the machine on, and he kept it under wraps to try in case people started to think his power over them was slipping. Instead of allowing her to continue on their side or fall in love with this boy, he had those memories swapped and replaced with an intense loyalty to her father. Even still, the machine was not perfect, and he did not trust her for even a second. All the jobs he gave her, while important, were public knowledge, and she was never allowed behind the curtain for fear of turning against them once more and giving the Rebels the advantage. The thing he has feared most throughout the wars is getting overthrown by those incompetent cavemen that had turned against him. He had given them a life of peace, they had been under his control, and they chose to rebel. Despite how lowly he regarded them, he was smart enough to never underestimate an opponent. But, he had one thing set in mind: He had fought to gain this power, and he would rather die than lose it, so if they were going to remove him from his presidency, they would do it over his dead body. |
